The Bruised Reed Support Group

Many Christians today who suffer from depression suffer in silence because they feel guilty. Some Christian brothers and sisters are even heard to comment that Christians should not be depressed because they have Jesus.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, CHRISTIANS DO SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION AND IT IS NOT A SIN.

The Lord spoke to me a few years ago when I was suffering and keeping quiet. He wanted me to share my testimony with others and to let them know that depression is not a sin or a mental illness and that as a church we must do more to support those who are suffering.

He gave me a picture. I was drowning and on the shore were all those who loved me. They were praying for me and their prayers were genuine, but no one came into the water to support me, no one would get wet.

I told the Lord that I wanted to be someone who was willing to get wet, to come alongside those who were drowning and support them. The vision I have is a support group for Christians suffering from depression. The Bruised Reed Support Group.

Isaiah 42:3  A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out.
