Ode to Dan.

Why do you hate me so

Just because I grow and grow

I spread my leaves

And lift my head

And you walk past

And wish me dead

You'll see me when driving

Along the highway

And in the hedgerow day after day

A million yellow petaled heads

Growing among your flower beds

And when I die my delicate clock

Will dissipate among the rocks

And I will rise up from the dead

A beautiful, hated

Dandelion head.
